Our daughter Angella Stuart performs at the Opry.  Sue and Gene have given Angella a good environment to improve her singing ability and stage presence. For this we are thankful.  Angella really enjoys and appreciates these opportunities.

I want to thank the Alvin Opry for the great work that you have done over the past years.I've lived in Alvin almost all my life and have seen your shows a number of times...It is pure country music at its very best..!!!Several players in the band have been friends of mine for a number of years...Larry and Tony Booth are both great players and excellent singers...Jeff Gambrell played in my band for many years and is an excellent drummer as well as a tremendous asset to our community...When I'm not playing, I bring my family to the opry for some good old fashion,clean, family fun...So on behalf of all of us in the Miles Of Texas Band..thanks for bringing pure country music to our community...sincerely, Thomas W. What is the Alvin Opry? Well from this authors view, it is a great way to spend a Friday or Saturday evening. If you like country and western music, local singers, comedy, fellowship with your neighbors, or just plain fun, then maybe you should call Sue for ticket reservations. The Opry is a bit difficult to find unless you know your way around Alvin, but ask for directions, everyone knows where 8th and Sealy Streets are, and most know of the Opry. We looked several times before I finally broke down my male ego and asked for directions. I'm certainly glad I did. (see maps on homepage) The music and songs performed by the Nashville Sounds are equal to any C&W band I've heard. Well enough is enough and I guess you can figure that I give the Opry a big thumbs up. Thanks goes out to Gene and Sue Hofford for supporting local talent and for providing great entertainment in our community.
