What's New at the Alvin Opry
Thursday, February 2, 2012
From the stage of the Alvin Opry...
I
need to start this newsletter with some bad news. One of our customers,
BETTY EVANS, suffered a stroke this past Sunday and is in the
hospital. As soon as I get some more details, I will pass them
along.
I
want to send out a very special thank you to another
customer couple C.J. & RITA CAPOUN. They were kind
enough to supply the fish net that we are using as a background
to one of our wall displays located in the auditorium.
One
of our favorite female singers, MISSY BROWN, lost her unborn child
yesterday. Lets keep her in our prayers. This is a very
hard time for this family.
This
coming Friday night, February 3rd, we will be celebrating the
birthday of JUNE FOURNERAT. She is the wife of our steel player
and a much loved person.
Also,
this coming Friday night, February 3rd, will be our WESTERN/COWBOY
NIGHT.
TOMMY
REED will be our featured singer. In addition, WAYNE BROWN, SYLVIA
FISHER, JACK ALBRITTON, KIM LANIER, RHONDA WALTERS, and the ALVIN
OPRY BAND, will be singing.
Next
week, February 10th, we will be featuring ARNOLD PARKER.
SCOTT
HURLEY will also be with us.
On
Friday, Feb. 17th, we will be having our 50s show. ROBERT
BURKHART will be on the keyboard.
Many
of you who attended our Annual Christmas Show, remember just how
talented and funny ROBERT is. He will really have us in stitches
on this show.
MIRANDA
FERRIER, from Branson, Missouri, will also be with us. MIRANDA
practically grew up at The Alvin Opry.
She
will be impersonating TINA TURNER when she is here. This is something
that she was best remembered for.
Her
favorite songs from the 50s are all the songs that The Supremes
sang.
On
Friday, Feb. 24th, ED GARY, will be our featured performer. Ed
is from Arizona and is the president of Ed Gary Productions as
well as the president of The Greater Arizona Country and Western
Swing Music Association.
I
want to end this newsletter with a very special announcement.
On
Friday, May 4th, we will once again have THE SURVIVORS with us.
THE
SURVIVORS are TONY BOOTH, CURTIS POTTER, DARRELL McCALL.
In
addition to these very talented men, both MONA McCALL and GEORGETTE
JONES will be with us.
Tickets
will go on sale on March 1st. They will be $15.00 each (just like
last year). Make plans now to attend this dont miss
show.
Until
Next Week
.

The
Alvin Opry is located on
the corner of 8th & Sealy St. in Alvin.
